Our Rooms
Spaces designed with care, purpose, and the natural rhythms of tamariki (children) in mind.
At Nature’s Nest, each room is thoughtfully created to honour the unique stage of learning, development, and curiosity that tamariki bring with them. Our environments are warm, welcoming and intentionally designed to support unhurried exploration, meaningful relationships, and a deep connection with the natural world.
Each space is led by dedicated kaiako who nurture confidence, independence, and a strong sense of belonging through responsive, heart-led teaching.
Matai Room | Babies
A peaceful, nurturing space for our youngest tamariki.
In the Matai Room, our kaiako (teachers) follow your pēpi’s (baby’s) natural rhythms, supporting their development through soft sensory play, gentle routines, and plenty of one-on-one connection. With a warm, peaceful environment and responsive caregiving, your pēpi is supported to explore at their own pace and build secure, trusting relationships.
Totara Room | Toddlers
A space for movement, curiosity, and growing independence.
In the Totara Room, energetic toddlerhood is embraced through purposeful play, outdoor exploration, and meaningful routines that help build confidence and belonging. Our kaiako encourage language, social skills, and problem-solving through hands-on experiences that keep curious minds engaged while nurturing emotional growth.
Kauri Room | Preschoolers
A rich, inspiring environment for deeper learning and growing capability.
In the Kauri Room, tamariki dive deeper into learning through collaborative projects, nature-based experiences alongside our outdoor explorer’s programme, and opportunities to develop independence and self worth. Our kaiako support each tamariki’s interests and strengths, building self-confidence and social skills so they feel ready and confident for their ‘transition to school’ journey.
